Abstract: We present an extension of the classical Lighthill-Whitham-Richads (LWR) traffic flow model, in which we assume that drivers adapt their speed on a mean downstream velocity, see [1]. First, we distinguish between the main methods correspond to upwind schemes and centrals schemes. Afterwards, we develop a second order central scheme as an extensions of the first-order staggered Lax-Friedrichs scheme and the second-order Nessyahu-Tadmor scheme, which belong to a class of Godunov-type projection-evolution methods.
