Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to introduce a semigroup approach to linear integrodifferential equations with delay. Our approach is mainly based on the feedback theory of infinite-dimensional linear systems. In fact, we use product spaces to reformulate such delay equations to a standard Cauchy problem and then use a perturbation technique (feedback) to prove the generation property. Moreover, we investigate the spectral theory for this problem.
