Abstract: In digital communication and storage systems, the exchange of data is achieved using a communication channel that is not completely reliable. Therefore, detection and correction of possible errors are required by using error-correcting codes. Soft-decision decoding is an NP-Complete problem [1]. The Hartmann Rudolph (HR) algorithm [2] enables to decode a sequence symbol by symbol; it uses the dual space for finding the noised symbols.
